Fernanda Katz Ellenberg, LL.B, LL.M
Advocacy Associate
Fernanda Katz Ellenberg is an advocacy associate at the RFK Memorial Center for Human Rights. In this capacity she oversees the annual Human Rights Award nomination and selection process as well as the Human Rights Award Ceremony each November. Ms. Ellenberg also oversees the internship program and assists the RFK Center staff with numerous day-to-day activities.
Ms. Ellenberg received her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the Catholic University in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 2002, and her Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Cornell Law School in 2005, in international studies.
Ms. Ellenberg worked as an associate at Veirano Advogados in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in matters related to civil law and litigation, contract law and products liability. In the United States, Ms. Ellenberg worked as a foreign attorney in the Kansas City, MO office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP in products liability and mass tort litigation matters. In addition, Ms. Ellenberg worked as a pro bono lawyer at the RFK Center for Human Rights assisting with human rights issues in Latin American countries.
Ms. Ellenberg is fluent in Portuguese and English and has working knowledge of Spanish.
