Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Abdallah (Sudan, 2007)

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Abdallah is a physician and medical treatment director at the Amel Center for the Treatment & Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture in Darfur, offering services and support to survivors of torture and sexual violence while documenting violence and human rights abuses. He is also a respected community leader, peace negotiator and human rights advocate.

Dr. Ahmed and the Amel Center, Darfur’s leading indigenous human rights organization, battle adversity to protect torture survivors and seek sustainable peace in Darfur. The Amel Center operates as an independent entity providing medical and legal support to survivors of human rights abuses, torture and rape.
