The Robert F. Kennedy Memorial would like to give its sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Father Robert J. Drinan, the former Congressman from Massachussetts and lifelong advocate of human rights. Fr. Drinan was a tremendous ally in the movement for civil rights, social justice and the rule of law in this country and abroad, helping the RFK Memorial and its laureates to advance the cause of human freedom.
The Robert F. Kennedy Memorial would also like to wish our condolences to the friends and family of Maria Leavey, a gracious volunteer for the RFK Memorial who passed away earlier this year. Leavey's life was personified by a quiet dignity and a generous passion for the pursuit of justice. She told staff that she was pleased to volunteer her help because she was inspired by Robert Kennedy, but her generosity inspired those at the RFK Memorial who had the pleasure of knowing her.
